As it turns out the bobbin winder on my new Bernina is broken. Silly me, thinking I could wind the bobbin upside down, I didn’t realize this until it was too late, and it did us both in. Off to the shop it will go, but in the meantime, I continue to fine tune my newly organized working space. In between stitching, reorganizing and preparing for our upcoming trip, I did manage to do a livestream for my YouTube followers.
Some love the livestreams and others dislike them. Part of what’s fun, in my opinion, about livestreaming is the interactive aspect. It’s really what sets these videos apart from a recorded video. For me it’s fun to hear from all of you as I’m working. There’s an easy going banter that is often funny, there’s lots of laughter, with the added plus that I’m able to answer questions in real time, demonstrate different things as I’m working and in general have fun. However part of the livestreaming experience is that I also greet people when they say hi, sometimes get side tracked, but usually am able to stay on target, and try things I might not otherwise try because of things suggested by others.
In preparation for our trip I found the following video.
This is where we will be going. In fact, in one week from today we will be in Rwanda! Hard to believe.
This is the piece I’m currently working on:
I like your lives. I’ve watched some from others and they can be long and boring with too many hellos to each person and not enough other discussion (usually RV videos are like that).
I know you must be thrilled and excited to go to Africa. I will live vicariously through you as I would not want to do it in person. Can’t wait to hear all the stories.
Hugs
Martha
Oh I’m glad. I know it can be tiresome for some who don’t enjoy the back and forth, but I enjoy doing them. This trip may be one of the crazier adventures we’ve embarked on given the pandemic. We will be very careful! Not sure how often I’ll be posting, depends on time and Wi-Fi. But I’ll be taking a lot of footage! I’m testing the GoPro later today! ❤️
I hope you have a great trip. It’s exciting & I can’t wait to see anything you post. We often talked about planning certain trips but missed a huge opportunity when we couldn’t go to visit Liz & family in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in March ’20. We were supposed to go to Sri Lanka after our visit with them. Covid hit . Then they moved back to the states after 16 years abroad, That’s been great for the families. I’m getting off course here… Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy your trip!.
Thx so much! I’ve had a couple of those missed opportunities. Always tough. We almost didn’t do this trip because of Covid and then learned that going forward the government is going to require all tourists to wear masks when hiking to see the gorillas because they are seeing less illness of all kinds being passed from humans to the gorilla population. So once Covid is a thing of the past ppl will still have to wear masks. And that decided us. We thought – okay let’s do this. Of course if one of us gets sick we will regret our decision but we will be careful and take precautions. Keeping fingers crossed.
Ariane I am thrilled you still get to take your trip. It is crazy how easy it is to wash Covid off your hands etc. yay for careful. My son is a zoo vet at the Chicago zoo and said how sad it is that the apes get the human illnesses which is not true in all animals. Makes it worth wearing a mask to help protect these beautiful animals. I for one cannot wait to go on this trip with you. Haha. Hoping you have WiFi but if not we will love hearing from you when you get home. Thank you for all you tube videos. Live are as fun as the others. So just keep posting. Wishing you well!

Thx so much Cindy! I had to stop visiting the gorillas in the Bronx zoo. The zoo keeper told me they had them all on Prozac. It will be thrilling to to see them in their natural habitat. ❤️
Well I got to watch it all ,thankyou Ariane have a grest holiday take care
Thx so much! ❤️
